Kernel Compiling Problem

Hi! I'm the newbie for compiling Linux kernel for Ubuntu. I want to run 6.0.6 kernel by myself and let it work on Ubuntu. I already tried using defconfig and config files in /boot folder but they both not work. It shows memory error when I boot up with 6.0.6 kernel. I wanna know how to compile a kernel by myself in Ubuntu and configs I need to adjust.
