variety menu won't show on panel

I just installed variety on my pop_os 18.4 and the menu for variety wont show on my panel. this happened to be before on pop-os but I installed a shell extension and got it to show up but I cant remember witch one it was. does anyone know how I can get the menu to show on the panel? Im using pop_os 18,4
