Illustrator CC 2014 everything works except... saving files!

Illustrator CC 2014 has a "Gold" status at winehq:

Everything runs fine except saving files. (Anywhere on the drive. Even on the windows formatted drive.)

I either get a dialogue:

"An unknown error occurred"

Or a dialogue asking me if I want replace the existing file, but it doesn't list a file name, it asks the directory name (do you want to replace "Untitled folder" for example. Even then I get "An unknown error occurred."

I've tried running as Windows 7, as XP, as Windows 10, whatever, same thing every time.

Also of note is that I can run Photoshop CC 2015 standalone and save files just fine....

I have such a vanilla setup I'm sure this has happened to others but I can't find anyone else, and yet it has a "gold" rating.
