CPU fan not running

the CPU fan rarely comes on (unless i run a multi-process number cruncher). but as of last week it quit coming on at all. it's probably a dead/jammed fan, but i want to check for any possible BIOS codes that might have configured it that i could reset, just in case it is a setting instead of a hardware problem. this laptop is a Kudu Pro from around March 2014.
