g3data became obsolete: is this temporal?

Hello,

today I checked g3data under synaptic and found out that it appeared under obsolete packages. I checked its development and saw (if not mistaken) that it stopped ~ 5 years ago, without this affecting its availability all these years. Does this mean that we are not expecting g3data in future versions of ubuntu?
