How to set up bluetooth headphones correctly - ubuntu 20.04?

Hello.
I recently updated a bunch of packages on my system (standard update) and my bluetooth headphones stopped connecting.
I reinstalled pulseaudio, pulseaudio-module-bluetooth, bluetooth, bluez, bluez-tools, rfkill. Basically, everything I found in the articles on the internet.
The headphones are plugged in and playback control works from them, but the sound output does not change to the headphones and they basically don't appear as a sound output source.
How do I reconfigure this system to make it work correctly?
