One suggestion though: When a KP happens, dump to the X Window system if X is running (like a BSOD "Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart"), or dump to the console is X isn't running. Also, the blinking keyboard of death should be able to be turned on/off by the user. That way, the user knows that their system crashed while running X.
