How much space i shoul to assigne to the /root partition

I have a doubt how much space I should allocate to the /root partitions. I don't know how much space is best. because I have a doubt when installing a program such as visual studio or code or another where it is installed where it occupies the space in /root or in / Home . 25gb would be enough for /root or do you recommend 50gb or so much space for that partition would be a waste?
