Suitable wireless mouse

I am using a 13" XPS13 9300 laptop to play Minecraft with my kids and g/children but my current cheapo mouse is not up to even that.

The Logitech G903 has been suggested but it has a puck on a trailing cable.

Any suggestions for a mouse which works virtually out of the box (not Bluetooth), does not have a puck, but a plug-in dongle permanently connected?

Edit: I forgot to state that I use Ubuntu!
