Dolphin (Nintendo Wii emulator) question.

I configured my game controller; however, I can't seem to get the game to recognize any input.
I'm playin Super Mario Bros Wii edition. It loads fine and starts into it's demo. I configured my gamepad controller. But can't get the game to recognize I want to start a game, pushing any buttons.
