Blutooth unable to find any devices on Macbook Pro mid 2012

Hi there,
My laptop was stolen so rather than fork out for a new one I have found my old Macbook Pro from 2012 and successfully installed Zorin Lite on it. I've been able to get just about everything working except for Bluetooth - which finds no devices - just scans to infinity.
hcitool dev returns the following:
Devices:
hci0 60:FB:42:8E:2D:85


If I run hcitool -i hci0 scan
Scanning ...
But no results

Have spent a bit of time on this but not particularly tech savvy. Is anyone able to help me?
