net work card no longer shows up

I do not have a lot of experience with Linux but know a bit. I have a PC that I use as a firewall it has 2 nics. One faces the net the other intranet. My PC froze and I was forced to shut it off, on boot the bios froze, so I turn it off and unplugged it for a few seconds. That got the OS back up but no nic shows up for intra' net. The other nic facing outside works. I replaced the nic with a identical card. Also the nic that does get an IP gives errors in transit when pinging.

I do not really know what to look at or for, can anyone help?

dmesg has errors but the scroll by, |more makes it grey so its hard to see the red errors.
