laptop wifi issue

hell i have an issue that hopefully someone can help me out with

i have a laptop with a broadcom BCM43142 chipset in it and i had ubuntu 22.04 installed since its release and the wifi never had an issue but when i upgraded it to 23.04 the wifi suddenly stopped working, i have tried everything i could find online i even went to the additional drivers option and installed the driver there and still nothing.... ive done updates installed different things that different sites recommended and rebooted several times still nothing. just for fun i tried turning off and on the actual wifi switch on the laptop and thats when i noticed something weird.... when i would turn off the wifi switch the BLUETOOTH would turn off and when i turned it back on then the bluetooth would turn back on.... but the wifi never shows up there isnt even an option for it.... does anyone know why the wifi switch would be controllling the bluetooth and has anyone out there had this problem before and know how to fix it? i have been up all night working on this and no answers yet and i have also tried multiple distros and they all are showing the same thing with the wifi and bluetooth..... and my wifi light on my laptop shows that its currently turned on so i know that cant be the issue..... any help would be appreciated thank you
