Problem with Printer

I have an Epson Stylus C79 usb
Yesterday I was printing and suddenly it stopped, with the half of the paper in. I was able to track it out. Since then when I turn on the printer it shows 2 lights. One green and one red. Normally the red light means problems with cartredges. It has 4. A couple of month I bought 4 new.
The problem is that I can't know which of them is empty. That is the great problem with ubuntu.
I tried several programms but they didn't work.
I have to use the printer urgently for a work I am doing.
Could somebody give me a hand with this?
