Now I'll admit that my very first distribution was in fact Ubuntu, however, that was twenty-two some-odd years ago. Since then I've bounced around between Fedora, Debian, and a few other distributions. For instance, in the last two to three months, I've used RedHat Enterprise Linux Workstation RHEL/Rocky Linux and Manjaro. I've realized that among the commercially available Linux Distributions Ubuntu as it has a reasonable price from year to year for support contracts.

I've also done some ridiculous stuff back when I was a relative Linux Newbie (greenhorn) I bought a book on Red Hat Linux and took it home and used it to set up a local File and Print sharing server on my family's home network. Then while I was looking around for a new user-friendly distribution to use on my desktop and happened to come across Ubuntru and grabbed an iso burned it to a DVD and installed it on a spare machine that I'd gotten from my father's employer when they rotated their hardware leasing terms.

Since then I've floated around from distribution to distribution, but I've always seemed to gravitate toward distributions that are either based on Debian or some respin of RHEL/CenTOS back in the days before IBM bought out IBM and eventually sunsetted the CenTOS project. The original founder of the CentOS project went on to found the Rocky Linux project.
