Voice Recording Problem

hi all,
i'm stuck with a strange problem. my mic records everything that is played via multimedia applications, such as Audacity, totem, etc...
but isn't recording my voice. can anyone tell me why this happens?

I am using ubuntu focal 20.04, have alsa & pulseaudio installed

please help.
