UBUNTU load issue

My Ubuntu 22.04 refuses to load. After a brief splash screen it displays the line
/dev/sda1: clean, 300228/2240224 files, 8615196/8959961 blocks
and a flashing cursor
doesn't load further
how should I problem solve this?
