Wanted to control noisy fans in Asus whenever I used Ubuntu. Trouble is, there is nothing of sort like Armoury Crate for Ubuntu, hence fans were running at full blast; upon searching the web I found the cpufreq tool.
I installed this tool with

sudo apt-get install indicator-cpufreq
but to no avail.
