Question: Vultr's Bring Your Own IP (BYOIP) Policy
A service that allows customers to use their own IP address ranges with Vultr's infrastructure.
OverviewVultr allows customers to bring their own IP (BYOIP) address space to be advertised from their virtual machines. This policy outlines the requirements and limitations for customers utilizing the BYOIP feature.
Prefix Limits- Customers may bring up to 5 prefixes in total, including both IPv4 and IPv6 prefixes.
- Each IPv4 prefix must be no shorter than a /16 and no longer than a /24.
- Each IPv6 prefix must be no shorter than a /32 and no longer than a /48.
Registration Requirements- The prefix must be registered in a Regional Internet Registry (RIR).
- If a routing object is not created, one will be created in RADb.
- It is recommended that customers create a route object in RIRs' IRRs or RADb if they do not want Vultr to create the object on their behalf.
- To expedite prefix acceptance, ROAs (Route Origin Authorizations) are recommended.
Usage Restrictions
- IP prefixes cannot be shared with other accounts.
- A prefix can be advertised from a single or multiple sites (anycast).
Compliance and Enforcement- Customers must ensure that their prefixes are properly registered and adhere to applicable Internet routing policies.
- Vultr reserves the right to reject or withdraw any prefixes that violate this policy or present operational concerns.
