Question: Changing Plesk site hosting type returns an error: vhostmng-structure failed: Cannot create directory /httpdocs: Permission denied

Symptoms

Changing a domain's hosting type from no web hosting to Web hosting in Plesk returns the following error:

Error: hosting update is failed: vhostmng-structure failed: Cannot create directory /httpdocs: Permission denied System error 13: Permission denied


Cause

The files inside the webspace have incorrect permissions or ownership.


Resolution

1.Connect to the server via SSH.

2.Fix permissions for the webspace example.com using the command below:

# plesk repair fs example.com
