Title: Major Gnome Log Problem
Post by: mahesh on Aug 11, 2023, 07:29 AM
Hi,
Sorry to keep opening threads, but I keep encountering major glitches on my freshly installed Ubuntu 20.04 OS on a brand-new Sandisk SSD Plus.

One of the persistent problems concerns my ability to log adequately.

This morning, the time on my OS was again messed up, so I fixed that using
Code:
  sudo dpkg-reconfigure tzdata
.

But when I rebooted the laptop, I was unable to call up a fresh log. The last log is still the one with the messed-up time.

I have tried rebooting several times, but when I open Gnome log, there is no new log for the new session.

What to do?

Is there a bash command I can use in the terminal to check if some code is blocking the Gnome log from functioning? I would really like to check on the terminal where the problem originates.

Also, yesterday, I reported that the exported text file of a log was different from the Gnome log, see this thread: https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2485331

So the log-related glitches keep piling up.

Thanks for your valued help.
