Question:
Unable to reset the password of the administrator using the forgot your password option in Plesk interface
Symptoms
- In the attempt to reset the administrator password via the Plesk login page using the option Forgot your password? the following error is displayed:
QuoteError: The administrator's password cannot be sent by email for security reasons.
To log in as 'admin', use the 'plesk login' command. To set a new 'admin' password, use the 'plesk bin admin --set-password -passwd <new_password>' command.
Cause
Since Plesk Onyx, the option to reset the password via email was disabled for the administrator account for security reasons.
