Title: GIMP Pressure Senstivity with Synaptics Touchpad?
Post by: mahesh on Dec 14, 2023, 01:17 AM
Recently I've replaced Vista with Ubuntu to make my laptop atleast work normal.
So far I'm experiencing Ubuntu without any major errors or whatsoever luckily.
Anyways, after doing things like installing the fingerprint scan, video drivers etc etc. I wanted to figure out how to make it possible to enable Pressure Sensitivity in GIMP.

My Notebook is the Lenovo 3000 N200 (Pretty old one) Yet it has a Synaptics touchpad (or uses the driver atleast)
Back at Windows Vista I always saw at the little icons at the taskbar how hard I was pushing the touchpad (I.e changes from color/circle becomes smaller)
So my laptop did know it changes from pressure at that moment. (Didn't use GIMP or any other drawing program a that moment with any sensitivity testing, so I don't know if it really worked or not)

After some researching I only ended up at topics/guides for tablets, which I don't have (because I can't effort one \o/, plus I don't really need one atm).
However, I did found something about my case, which was the Input Devices settings > Screen or Disabled, but the alpha nor thickness of the brush does not change at all when changing pressure.

So, I was wondering, is it possible to enable Pressure Senstivity for touchpads? (not tablets).
