Title: What to buy? Ubuntu specific tablet or any tablet and install xubuntu dual boote
Post by: mahesh on Nov 11, 2023, 05:06 AM
I am currently using a laptop as my main machine, dual botting with xubuntu and Windows 10.

I travel often and as this laptop is rather heavy and bulky I have for a number of years been taking a similarly dual booted netbook for travel research and hotel booking mainly.

I would like to teat myself to a tablet but am not sure whether to buy a good spec. one and install xubuntu or, go for a specific Ubuntu machine such as the BQ Aqarius M10 Ubuntu Edition.

I am put off from that machine by the comment, "However, be warned: quirks in the software combined with more than a handful of bugs mean that the tablet is unlikely to be suitable for anyone but avid tinkerers and prosumers." when I red reviews. I am 'into' xubuntu and happy with it so may probably not have any problem, however, I have never heard of BQ.

I am favouring installing xubuntu on what I consider to be the most suitable tablet but am not sure if xubuntu would cope well on a tablet.

Has anyone gone down either route and can give an opinion?
