I have an older Windows Computer which is about 8 years old. It has an Intel Processor 3.20 GHz , 16.0 GB installed RAM , System type: 64 bit operating system , x64 based processor and is running Windows 8.1 and as you have probably heard, Microsoft will be ending Support and updates at the beginning of 2023. I am ready to install Ubuntu on this machine. However, I did attempt to install a Ubuntu version once before and it seemed like it just never ran right and crashed frequently. I have had great success with Ubuntu in the past on old Lap tops. Do you think I should install the newest version of Ubuntu on this machine or do you feel I would be better off going with an older version since this machine is about 8 years old? Your recommendations are greatly appreciated.
