Title: WebP security issue no admin rights
Post by: kalpana on Nov 03, 2023, 05:09 AM
Good evening,

I have following question about the recent WebP heap overflow security issue.
In the public literature there is always written that the system could be harmed or taken over by such an attack.

Is there any way the WebP exploit works when the user has no administrative rights given?
Can it leave the set environment of rights to exploit the linux system?

Or can we call unpatched desktop user without admin rights safe?

Have a good one and thanks.

Greetings
