Title: Wine simply not working
Post by: kalpana on Oct 27, 2023, 06:39 AM
Ubuntu 22.04 lts

I have used Wine with previous Ubuntu versions, but can't get it to work with 22.04 lts...

I've tried installing it from the software center, using Synaptic, using terminal. I've attempted to run various programs that end with ".exe"

Furthermore, when I right click a file, I don't get the option to open with Wine, as it use to be the case.

Also, I've tried using Wine on both my HP desktop and HP laptop. I'm baffled.

After uninstalling Wine, I'm currently installing it using this page: https://vitux.com/how-to-install-wine-on-ubuntu/

I can report:

Code:
$ wine --version
wine-6.0.3 (Ubuntu 6.0.3~repack-1)

p.s. i know Wine isn't an application, but it doesn't show up by clicking "Show Applications" on the lower left portion of the dock.
