Title: Longterm Windows / Mac User wants to start with Ubuntu and record orchestral Mus
Post by: kalpana on Oct 18, 2023, 05:40 AM
Hello there!
I am new here.
I recorded Music in Windows many years before.
Five years before I started using a Macbook Pro and I really liked the software and to work with it.
Unfortunately I had a lot of problems with my Macbook and now the display is broken somehow.
To work with a Mac can be frustrating and expensive...
And I don't want to go back to Windows.

So I decided to buy a new Notebook and to install Ubuntu on it.
At the moment I am testing Ubuntu on my Desktop PC.
I know that to record good music and to use good symphonic libraries in Linux can be very hard.
But mayyyybe it is possible somehow.

I just installed the DAW Reaper. It seems to work with Ubuntu.
Unfortunately there is no Ubuntu Application for the Kontakt 5 Player from Native Instruments.

I own all sample libraries of East West Quantum Leap. (Orchestral, Symphonic, Bösendorfer) and want to use them with Linux.
Does anybody know, HOW to manage this issue?

Is there any chance?
Best regards,
Marlon
