Title: need advice on purchasing a new printer
Post by: kalpana on Oct 16, 2023, 05:59 AM
Before I begin, in my home country, we don't have a return policy like in the States, you cannot just return an item just because you changed or mind or it's not compatible with your computer, there must be a physical defect.

I've heard that Brother printers work the best for Linux, however, Brother's printers are too expensive for me, and so I've heard that HP printers are the next best thing, since HP is known to support Linux.

I've set my sights on this:

HP DESKJET INK ADV 2337 PALM
Price: $79.00 (converted to US$)

How do I know if this printer works on Xubuntu 22.04 LTS? And how do I know if it has the features I need?

The features I need are B/W draft printing (for legal documents) to save on ink. How would I know if the driver available in the Linux kernel has these features?
