I installed the Ubuntu 20.04 LTS version on my Lenovo Ideapad 330 by partitioning the D-drive, a few months ago. It was working fine, but recently, the keyboard freezes whenever I press the shift, pause/play and volume up and down keys; especially while using the terminal or text editor. I am unable to use the keyboard for some time then. Often, the sound/volume icon also keeps flashing at the center of the screen during this time.
I press various keys then, but in vain. I once clicked on the Flameshot app and took a screenshot -- and the keyboard was up live! So weird!! From then I have been trying this weird workaround every time my keyboard freezes, it works sometimes. Sometimes I have to close everything and restart my laptop.
I tried connecting an external keyboard working with it -- no use. This problem does not arise when I log in to Windows, though on Windows, I have the volume popup involuntarily flashing sometimes (the keyboard freezing problem does not happen there).
Please help.
(My expertise on Ubuntu : Almost zero. I just use Quantum Espresso on it for academic purposes. I only Google when I get stuck on something. I do not understand most of the commands.)
